REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL PLANT
STATUS: FULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT, HOURLY
 
 
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time carpenter / maintenance technician. 
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Performs repairs related to carpentry.
• Performs repairs related to drywall / plaster.
• Performs general maintenance as assigned which may include HVAC maintenance such as replacing air filters.
• Assists with painting projects.
• Cleans up fallen branches and debris.
• Moves furniture.
• Picks up trash on campus grounds.
• Professional, polite and provides excellent customer service to the campus community.
• Performs other duties as assigned by director of physical plant.

• Demonstrates skillset in carpentry and drywall install / repair.
• Knowledge of general maintenance.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to operate a motorized man lift.
• Ability to safely work from heights of 20’ from a ladder.
• Ability to work overtime and assist in emergency call-in situations.
• Growth and “doer” mindset and institutional teamwork ethic.
• Creative, strategic, thoughtful, and has a sense of humor.
